Meet Lillian B. Ramirez | Sugar Cookie Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lillian B. Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lillian B., as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I am a mother of two little boys and I think the most important thing I’ve done and will continue to do, is show them that work can be fun and something that makes your heart happy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
One piece of feedback that I constantly hear is how my cookies taste different than other sugar cookies, my clients love how the cookies “taste as great as they look” so I definitely feel like the taste and quality of my cookies sets me apart from others.
I’m most proud of following my creative heart and working for myself. I spent hours and hours researching and learning how to make sugar cookies. I also practiced decorating and baking the perfect cookie any chance I got. I believe by dedicating so much time into perfecting my product, has a lot to do with where I am today business-wise. The journey has definitely not been easy, especially raising two little boys, it definitely has it challenges but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The most difficult thing to overcome was quitting my corporate job and taking on cookies full-time after my second son was born. My husband took on so much to allow me to focus on cookies, so with emotional and active support of my husband, I was able to overcome the most challenging part of owning my own business.
I’ve learned to show up and continue to put energy into what I love, even when things get tough.
I want people to know that I care so deeply about my product and the events behind each cookie. I have dreams to one day own my own brick-and-mortar so stick along for the ride!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many amazing places to visit! I think we’d start off the day with some brunch and mimosas at The Standard, from there we’d go to the Dallas Arboretum and walk through the beautiful gardens, and check out the Dallas Farmers Market too. From Dallas, we would definitely have to bring the kids to Cheeky Monkey in Plano to let them run around! For dinner, Hutchins BBQ is a must and then we could end the night with a concert by the lake in Rockwall!
Sky Rocket Burger is also on the list along with The French Room, I really want to check that place out and what better time to do so than when my bestie is in town.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My aunt Blanca was the one who brought sugar cookies to my attention! She sent a picture of some cookies she was practicing on for my cousin’s baby shower and i’ve been infatuated ever since.
My dad would always tell me to do what makes me happy, along with my mom always saying “Do it! You can do it mija.” I think that set the bar mentality on what I could accomplish.
My husband gave me the strength and courage to say goodbye to my corporate job and to put my heart and energy into my own dreams by taking my cookie business full time.
Last, but definitely not least, my family, friends, and clients that ordered cookies from me any chance they could, if it weren’t for them sharing and showing their unconditional support, my business wouldn’t be where it is today.
