We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee Leprechaun and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lee, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to choose a creative career the day I realized I never wanted to work a normal 9-5. Which is odd cause working on a creative career as an artist you’re working pretty much 24/7. The little down time we have is used learning and researching more techniques that can be used to help push us further.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The most recent thing I’ve been most excited about is the 2 labels I signed with. I was fortunate enough to have two singles picked up by high five Music and symphonic distribution. I got where I am today but working on my craft every single day. It’s a daily process. Even if it’s only for 5mins or and hour. It’s daily. If I go one day without working on something that helps push me further, I feel like I’m wasting time. It definitely wasn’t easy to get myself this way. Took a lot of self control. Somedays I literally had to force myself to just sit down, open my daw and get straight to work. Now it’s just habit.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Best places in DFW for music in my opinion would be It’ll do for starters. A small person house and techno venue where the vibes are always on point. If you’re looking for something bigger? I’d go with stereo live. Lots of big names roll through there. Even myself got to open for an artist there once and I’ve been just waiting for an opportunity to go back. For food and drinks? I’d go with my favorite spot in Deep Ellum called Pepe mito’s. Amazing tex mex restaurant with some of the best tacos and enchiladas around.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The fans. Every single person who has ever listened to my music and given me a chance to show what I can do.
