We had the good fortune of connecting with LeAnn Offner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LeAnn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I am unashamed to admit I have faced my fair share of challenges in life, as many of us have. Some of them, unfortunately, have prevented me from pursuing my previous dreams. Today, my dreams look different than those I had years ago. And fortunately, the person pursuing those dreams looks different as well. Today, I am proud to say I am a determined, hard-working mom of three. I am also a believer in Christ and choose to live my life in faith, knowing God makes all things work together for the good of those who love him. However, I know life does not come without struggles. With the ever-rising cost of living, I was determined to find a way to make some extra money from home. As a mom of littles, working from home is important to me. I had wanted to try my hand at cookie decorating for a few years now. My first attempt revealed some true potential. So with some practice, I was able to perfect my craft quickly and launch my own cottage bakery business!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a cookie artist. I create custom cookies for any occasion. What sets me apart is my exceptional attention to detail and perfectionist mentality. I pride myself in being able to bring a customer’s ideas to life! A freshly baked cookie is my blank canvas. It brings me joy and excitement to know my work is present at so many wonderful occasions: birthdays, baby showers, weddings, graduations, etc. I am a firm believer that no matter what choices or mistakes you have made in life, dreams are achievable and success is possible. You can achieve whatever it is that you desire out of this life, regardless of how the world and others have labeled you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was to visit the area, I would take them to my favorite restaurants. The first place we would go is a Mansfield favorite called Cha Cha’s. Then we would have to go to the Fort Worth Stockyards to brush up on some Texas history and enjoy the fun atmosphere.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I first had the idea to launch my business, I reached out to a family friend who also has a cookie business. Her name is Stephanie. She was gracious enough to answer any questions I had. My husband has also been my biggest supporter. Not only did his income fund my start up costs, but our weekends sometimes require him to become Mr. Mom, which enables me to focus on orders or other business matters. His unwavering support has allowed my business to blossom and grow quickly.
