We had the good fortune of connecting with Layla Grace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Layla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was 6 years old when I asked my mommy if I could start my own company. She thought I was joking until I told her that I wanted to be able to make my own colors and make sure that kids and mommies would be able to wear my lip gloss. Mommy had a long talk with me about giving back to others so I said I wanted to help other kids. I picked St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. My mom told me how hard it is for moms and dads to see their kids sick and hurting so I want to help make them smile again. My fundraiser is called “Kids Helping Kids”.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love to hang out at Legacy West! We go to eat pizza or nachos at Legacy Hall and then mommy lets us get this drink from Starbucks that has oreos in it. It’s so good! Then we sometimes walk over by the water fountains for selfies while mom eats her cupcake from Sprinkles. That’s her favorite spot.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Justin C. Hart, the author and bestselling novelist, “The Three Lil’ Pigs Learn About Money”.

Randi Knight of Knight Investment Group, a successful business owner of JRK Transportation Services LLC-Texas, Couture Bridal Collection LLC-Texas/Louisiana, and RSVP Special Events & Design LLC-Georgia
