We had the good fortune of connecting with LaKeisha Wallace-Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaKeisha, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
This is very interesting question. It stood out to me due to the fact I am currently debating with myself this very thing. If you have a business and there is not any love, passion, anxiety, and nervousness behind it, you may need to reconsider why you are even in business. To be in business just to be in business is not a good reason to have a business. You will not be able to give your customers the experience of the passion you have behind it. I was deciding to give up my business because I allowed someone very close to me, non-vision of my business tell me that being a business owner there are too many risks and I should consider a job that I went to college for because it provides consistency and benefits. Just because someone doesn’t see your vision about your business is never a reason to give up on it. Because this particular person was so close to me it kind of hit a little harder and had me reconsidering everything. But the love, passion, and most importantly what I receive from my clients when they smile or fall in love with one of my creations makes it worth it. I put so much heart, soul and love into everything I make. I am truly in love with my business and my clients and that’s more than enough for me to keep going.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There are hundreds maybe even thousands of people who create custom items from kids clothing to tumblers and a variety of other things. But I believe what sets me apart from the rest is what I receive behind it. Making money off of something you create is great and all but money is not the only thing that drives what I make. It is the pure genuine and pure love behind each item. I want each client to feel loved when they purchase something from my business. I want them to understand and know that their custom item was truly created with them in mind. Ever since I was a small child I loved to create things for people. Because I loved to see their reactions once they received what I made.

I am most proud about the the change, the growth, and the success. I am able to continue to lead my business even on days when things seem uncertain.

My business was born out of creating different items for my wedding and everyone could not believe I made some of the things. Was it easy? No it was not at all. One of the main challenges I faces was taking my eye off of what I was doing and looking at people and judging myself off of others. I had to tell myself many times and still remind myself that I have what it takes and to get refocus on me. I had to stop aligning my focus solely on what I wanted to accomplish for my business.

I want the world to know that All Thingz Kreative is a business that truly loves people and love to spread infectious love through every item we create,

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow. Okay, I am an introverted business owner which is a whole thing in it self lol ! But going out is pretty much slim to none. The first place we gotta go to is the Museum of Memories. Because I am a kid at heart and I create kid things this would be spot on for us. Lunch time we would eat at Brunchaholics for some good ole cajun food. Honestly we would probably go back to my home and let some of the food digest because after eating there we would be sleepy. After I nap we would go have manis and peds at this cute spot in Cedar Hill Solar Nails. We after mani and pedis we would go do a little shopping therapy at the Allen Outlet Mall. Have some dinner at the Tru Cocktail & Bar and finish the night at a hookah lounge.

An interesting place to check out is Unicorn Vomit it is an art museum with a lot of creative art

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mother she has supported me even when I wanted to give up. Her little unorthodox way of pushing me and telling me to shake it off and keep going and also her financial contributions has truly been a blessing to ATK.
