We had the good fortune of connecting with La La Musiq and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi La La Musiq, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been my faith in The Most High God! I truly consult him in every decision that I have made to get me to this point. As an independent artist, it can be challenging not to fall into the typical stereotypes of the industry. Being a follower of Christ, I leverage the scripture for every song that I write and sing which is also apart of my personal life. I believe because of my obedience to the word of God he has blessed me in more ways than I could imagine. My brand La La Musiq is the epidemy of myself as a truth music artist. I enjoy uplifting people from all backgrounds with my music and it shows in my songs and performances! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Philippians 4:13

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is that I sing truth music! My lyrics are used to set people free and to get them thinking. I have a passion to sing music that gives praise and glory to God unashamed. I am most proud that I have written 2 albums entirely by myself! My first album “Set Apart” allowed me to win The 2020 Female Emerging Artist of The Year through the International Singer Songwriter Association. My second album “The Awakening” will be released in June 2021 and it is absolutely amazing full of my personal growth. I am here today because of my love for Christ and using the gift that was giving to me to glorify him and the Father! This road has not been easy since I fund all of my projects entirely so it takes a little longer but they are well worth the wait! A big lesson I learned is that you can’t cater to everyone but do what you love and people will come along the journey with you. The La La Musiq brand represents a southern girl who loves singing, songwriting, and representing Christ in all that I do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start with a little history and check out Dealey Plaza in remembrance of JFK. From there the mood would need to be lightened so I would take my bestie to Dallas Arts District to check out various venues including the Black Dance Theatre. Because I am an outdoors girl we would definitely hang out in Kylde Warren Park and enjoy the view. Reunion Tower would absolutely be on the list as we could enjoy the entire view of Dallas and eat at Wolfgang Puck’s posh Five Sixty! For an evening of fun and live music we would check out some of the hot music spots in Deep Ellum.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my husband Pastor Johnny Luter II! He has believed in me and supported me on this journey. I am truly thankful for his wisdom and guidance as I serve in the ministry of music!
