We had the good fortune of connecting with Kris Gardner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kris, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Work ethic. I have a saying that I heard when I was playing college football. My coach used to always say “everyday you either get better or you get worse, nobody stays the same” if you stayed the same somebody around you got better so you got worse. I apply that message everyday. I try to get better at something in my craft everyday. In comedy you don’t know what opportunities may present themselves so you have perfect you craft everyday. So when those doors open you have the ability to run through them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m excited to be headlining the Addison improv Jan 30th. I have already headlined the Arlington improv. I grew up in the DFW so to be able to say I’ve headlined 2 of the premier clubs in the DFW area is something I’m proud of. No comedy was not easy. No entertainment genre is. Unlike many jobs there is no direction, there are no blue prints. It’s all about you figuring it out. It’s a challenge, but. I don’t know anybody in this field who isn’t competitive and welcomes it. Kris Gardner the comedian but also kris Gardner with KRGentertainment, KRGproductions, that I do with my brothers Kyle and Kenny Gardner. Follow my journey on IG krgfunny

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to all my comedy shows that week. Or a TCU football game #gofrogs

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family! Without their support, their belief and sacrifice in allowing me to chase my dreams. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am today if it wasn’t for them. They are my why. My coach from college Gary Patterson. The lesson he taught me I still apply to this day.
