We had the good fortune of connecting with KlassX and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KlassX, how do you think about risk?

I believe risks are required if you want the best out of life. You could take the easy path and work as an employee. Collect your check every two weeks, pay your bills and go out every blue moon. But if you really want to live, you have to take a chance.

Throughout my entire life, I’ve always taken risks. Of course they all haven’t worked, but some have. I wouldn’t have been in the positions I was in, had I not taken a chance.

One of the biggest risks I feel like I’ve taken, is choosing to leave the post office to pursue music and putting myself all the way in it. I had a promising career. I worked my way up. Started as a mail carrier and got promoted in less than 2 years. When I decided to leave, I didn’t have a plan in place, but at the time I knew I wasn’t interested in being a supervisor anymore. So I took a chance and ended up leaving the post office.

Nothing worth having is easy to attain.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I got started in 2017. I was making beats on an iPhone with Garageband. Not too long after that I got a laptop and FL Studio. I started school at Mediatech in August of 2018 and collaborated with a lot of talented creatives. Those sessions during the two years I studied at Mediatech serve as the foundation of my career. It was a great first step towards the future.

Through my experiences creating for other artists, I found that I would rather take a chance on myself and write my own songs as opposed to waiting on an artist to release their music. It has truly been a journey which led me to become an artist.

The music I create is cinematic, self reflective and thought provoking. My personal life experiences and the emotions that they birthed are the foundation of every song that I write. Initially I was only making beats for other artists and overtime I decided to write my own songs for multiple reasons. The biggest being that I could own my own music.

It hasn’t been an easy path, but it hasn’t necessarily been hard either. There have definitely been challenges though. I’ve overcome those challenges by just washing my hands and continuing to move forward. Taking the things that I learned along the way and using that knowledge to make it better the next time. Not holding any grudges and always conducting exceptional business no matter what.

I’m extremely excited for the future though, especially this year! I have a project that’ll be released this year in June. I’ve been working on it for a couple years now. A lot of energy, time and patience has gone into this project and I’m looking forward to its success.

I just want the world to know that REAL HIP HOP IS BACK!!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I honestly don’t go out, so we would be discovering the city together. I would love to go to texplex. I love movies too so definitely go see a movie or two and of course the studio. The first studio I’m taking them to is the #1 recording studio in Dallas, MVP Studios! Lol most likely we’ll lose track of time and be there the rest of the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This shoutout is dedicated to my biggest supporter, my wife, Danae. She has seen me in almost every phase of my life and has stayed by my side through it all. I know that as long as she’s in my corner, there isn’t anything I can’t do. She has always had my back and supported any ideas that I have. She has passionately held me accountable and believed in everything that I’ve done. From the very first moment I told her about my passion for music to today, she has been 1000% supportive of me. None of this would be possible without her.
