We had the good fortune of connecting with King Qreed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi King, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
That’s a great question, I’ve been an Artist pretty much my whole life, I honestly believe it’s my destiny. I’m very fortunate to come from a family with such great musical talents. I honestly feel that art and creative work pursued, it was inevitable, I couldn’t escape or lose the thought of being a creative if I tried.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m originally a Hip Hop/Christian Artist known as King Qreed. I use my Artistic and Creative ability to be an Inspiration to others. I love all genres of music. The music you listen to is the Music that feeds your soul. Music is very powerful and important to life. Instead of rapping about drugs, crime, sex etc. I’d rather speak on the positive things that bring forward motivation and shed light, it’s simple to rap about negativity. I need real life-giving content to put in my ears. When you change your ways and mature; your surroundings change. the company you keep, the music you listen to, or even shows that you watch. You place yourself around what you want to be come, instead of being in the Hood maintaining a Street Mentality. I’ve grown into a Husband, a better Father, and the Owner of a few businesses one of them being Fresh24Collective which I started with my wife. Fresh is a lifestyle brand that encourages fitness and healthy living reminding people that every day they wake up they have a fresh start full of opportunities to live the life of their dreams! Since the beginning of the pandemic, I’ve lost 60lbs which caught the eyes of some big companies such as Goli and Ambrosia Collective which I have partnered with to help promote products and influence others in fitness and health. Being able to take control of my health excites me the most. It’s a proud feeling knowing you have the willpower to overcome your own fears or what you may think is impossible. It took a lot of self discipline and persistency to get to that point. The hardest thing was letting go fast food and sodas. oh and running back for extras! I didn’t really overcome these things until I started seeing results. Once I saw the results I couldn’t help but to keep pushing forward. Most important lesson I’ve learned along the way was self discipline. Once you control your mind you can shape your future. Sometimes in life we look at those who are at the top and we think they just landed there. Well they actually did but everything is a process and has its own journey. I would want people to believe in themselves and trust the process. It won’t be easy but well worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For breakfast I would definitely recommend the Biscuit Box in Plano or for brunch LoLo’s Chicken and Waffles in Southlake. For lunch one of my favorites is “12 Cuts Brazillian Churrascaria” and when I want some great Louisiana style chicken I love going to Tasty’s Chicken in the Colony owned by Teral Slack. When I’m closer to the downtown area Turkey Leg Paradise is literally just that, a Paradise! Some exciting places to go would have to be Lake Carolyn in Las Colinas, Andretti Indoor Karting, Top Golf, or Pinstack. We would explore the sites, scenery and culture of Deep Ellum and grab a slice of “Serious Pizza” and a cocktail at Stirr while there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a huge Shoutout to Miracle Hendrix the Owner of MCFresh Fades, Miracle’s Closet, and Author of “Take a Loss 2 Win” I knew there was something special about him the first day we met. He had great energy and we came from similar backgrounds growing up. He became my Barber and every haircut became a Mentoring session as well. I’ve always loved to stay fresh and well groomed. Going to the Barbershop was something I couldn’t wait to do, nowadays I enjoy the knowledge and inspiration more so than the haircut. I’ve only known Miracle a little over a year and I’ve watched him grow and actually putting actions behind his words is pure motivation for me. I feel lucky, not so many get the chance to leave the Barbershop with a fresh cut, fire outfit, and a new spark of motivation! Thank you Miracle for all of the Support and Motivation!
