We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiara Wilder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiara, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
WOW! Let me tell you creating Wilder Sweets has given me a long list of lessons. Being a small business owner is not for the faint of heart. If I had to choose an important lesson it would be that you have to be consistent. You have to consistently show up, consistently market your products, and consistently believe that success is coming. Giving up is simply not an option!

What should our readers know about your business?
Wilder Sweets is a 100% plant-based baked goods and barkery company. We have also expanded and offer handmade, craft chocolates. We offer treats that are completely egg-free, dairy-free, and free from processed white sugars. We are really known for our cookies and what sets us apart is that no flavor is out of bounds for us to have. We are proud of our creativity when creating all of our products and are always experimenting with new, unique flavor combinations. What has helped us grow in the last few months is definitely growing our social media presence which has enabled us to get in front of our customers virtually and starting the communication of how our products will bring value and is the solution to many lifestyle choices and dietary needs. We are still carving a path with incremental growth and look forward to continuing to learn all aspects of running our small business.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Someone who deserves a lot of credit and recognition is my mom. I definitely consider us to be a dynamic duo. She not only inspires me but also helps me with a lot that has to get done on a day-to-day basis. She inspires and pushes me to be my best each and every day. She is the one who has really engraved into me that consistency is key in anything that you put your mind to. My mom is with me every step of the way. She is my biggest fan and supporter!
