We had the good fortune of connecting with Ken Bloodsaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ken, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting Finesse Media Group in 2011 in Chicago, IL, was rooted in my passion for empowering others and my desire to make a meaningful impact in marketing, branding, and media. I wanted to create a platform where individuals could harness their talents and achieve their goals, while also contributing positively to their communities.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Finesse Media Group is not just a business; it’s a platform dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve their goals and make an impact in their respective fields. What sets us apart is our commitment to excellence, creativity, and genuine connection with our clients and community.

I am most proud of the impact we’ve had on the lives of those we’ve worked with, helping them elevate their brands and reach their full potential. Our journey to where we are today has been filled with challenges, but each obstacle served as a learning opportunity.

Overcoming these challenges required resilience, adaptability, and a strong support system. I leaned on my network, sought guidance from mentors, and remained focused on our mission despite setbacks.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. They include the importance of perseverance, the power of collaboration, and the significance of authenticity in business.

I want the world to know that Finesse Media Group is more than just a marketing agency; we are a community of creators, innovators, and change-makers dedicated to making a positive impact. Our story is one of passion, dedication, and the belief that with the right mindset and support, anything is possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Welcome your friend with Tex-Mex at Mi Cocina. Explore art at Dallas Museum of Art, lunch at Klyde Warren Park, and history at Sixth Floor Museum. Outdoor fun at White Rock Lake, dinner at House of Blues. Shopping at NorthPark Center, dinner at The Standard Pour. Day trip to Fort Worth for Stockyards, Joe T. Garcia’s, and cultural sites. Sports game, Topgolf, and Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. Farewell brunch at Jonathon’s Oak Cliff.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely, I owe a great deal of gratitude to my family, friends, mentors, and the entire community who have supported me throughout my journey. Additionally, I want to give a shoutout to the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., my alma mater UAPB, and all the individuals who have inspired and guided me along the way. Their encouragement, wisdom, and support have been invaluable in shaping my path as an entrepreneur and leader in media and marketing.
