Meet Keisha Hathaway | Esthetician & Store Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keisha Hathaway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keisha, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy is seeing the changes that I can make for each and every client I work with. Being able to give them the knowledge and education when they come see me . I love making my clients happy and relaxed and just seeing their facial expressions when I complete my job.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have been working in retail management for over 20 years and the beauty industry for one year. I have always been passionate about the beauty industry so that’s why I started it to educate myself more about the beauty industry 4 years ago and why I decided to get licensed. What sets me apart from other businesses is that the level of care, time, and attention to detail that I give to each of my clients especially since I’m a small business owner. Each of my clients experience is personalized for them because I want them to feel special and relaxed and all their cares go away for that 1-2 hour that they are laying on my table. I want them to know that I’m there for them and sometimes you have to wear many hats for them lol!!! One day they may need me to be a counselor next time to come in they may need me to be their fashion stylist I can do it all lol! But in reality they invest in me by being my client as well I as I invest in them by giving them great skin!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If one of my friends were to come in town on a Friday, we would probably start out getting something to eat and drinks at Haywire in Plano, then maybe a couple of other spots in that area but keep it light . Saturday start off at brunch and Mamosa‘s at Soiree . Love the live music they have there . Then we would head to the mall do some light shopping so we can get out outfits ready for the evening. Later that night head out to Sandaga and Whiskeys for some dancing and fun!! Then if we survive Friday night and Saturday night we would have a Sunday Funday starting off at Common Table for the Hip Hop brunch and later Lava Cantina for the day party!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely like to shout out my parents Joseph and Carolyn (RIH) Hathaway, my twin brother Ojore, my friends and my educators at Ogle. Each one played a key role to my success a very Strong support system. The time that I really wanted to give up was when I was a store manager working at least 55 hours a week then after work I would travel to class 5 days at 25 hours and always on time and ready to learn. My days starting at 6 am and not ending until 10 pm. There would be days that I would be so exhausted that everyone around me could see my level of stress from my job and my stress of school. Each person would tell me that if this is something that you really want Keisha you are going to have to make the Sacrifice. I knew that if this was something that I love so I continued to push through because I saw my goal that I wanted to achieve for myself. Each person was a special cheerleader for me to graduate and receive my license each push me daily because they know it was hard , stressful and I was tired. Having them in my life really help make me the woman I am today. Each person whatever role they played in my life parents, educators and friends all taught me something to keep pushing no matter how much you want to give up.
