We had the good fortune of connecting with Ka’VoN Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ka’VoN, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
I think the most important lesson that my business has taught me is you can only be as successful as you want to be. What I mean by that is everyone in this world grinds different, and when it comes to photography there at least 500 in one city. The way you market yourself and the way you brand your business leaves a mark in each job you do. So from your promotion to what you decide to post and let the world see it will all be different. So everyday when I wake up I remind myself how bad I want I know people have been doing this longer than me but I am determined to be the best.

What should our readers know about your business?
Kavon’s Photography is about two years into existence I’ve been taking pictures for about Six years, but about Two years ago I took a leap of faith and started business it was a big move for me but I had a Lotta great support from family and friends. It was Rocky in the store but it all came together and I think God for that I think one thing I see that sets me apart from others is my dedication with each and every shoot. Rather it be a family reunion or a bar-mitzvah or a sweet 16 I personalize each and every single one of them I’ll take the time to get to know the people that I am shooting with so that they can feel comfortable so that I can feel comfortable so that while we’re doing this it doesn’t feel like a job for me it feels like I’m Apart of the family. I think I got to where I am today with my business because I started out slow, But I always prepared to speed up I was always getting ready I prayed for people to come and when they did I was ready, because I knew one day I would speed up and when that day came for me to speed up that’s when I went full force, and I haven’t looked back since. This road that I’m taking it wasn’t easy at all I think one of the biggest challenges that I face was watching other people continue to post in light of just how their business is doing in me looking at their business and always wondering what why is my business doing that. Then I got in my office and I made it happen I just didn’t stop working. I stayed in a studio and eventually got to the point where my business is picked up. I think it’s a lot of lessons that I learned along the way oh I think the biggest lesson is when you make friends in this business no matter what happens most of those people will always be your friend and I will always support them as they support me. I guess one thing I want the world to know about my story my business is I’m just a kid from Dallas and I’m going to work as hard as it takes to leave my mark in the city where I came from.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
First, I would ask their beverage of choice; then I would pack a mimosa for me and their drink of choice and take them to white rock to sit by the water and catch up. After white rock I would take her to a reserved patio table in Addison with a order of cheese fries ready on the table. After Addison we would rent scooters at sunset and eat creme brûlée w two shots of choice. The end

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think the person that deserves the biggest shout out is my sister Breonna Batson she has been by my side and supporting me through everything that I’ve done to this day. She is truly a rock that has never moved, but has influence me and motivated in so many ways. She makes me a better business owner, photographer, and better as a man. I know family supposed to be there regardless but she stands out throughout my entire story she is always there even when I don’t want her to be, sometimes when I look back and I’ll look at the things that I’ve done it’s very seldom I find one that she wasn’t the main supporter on. She keeps me in line and on track, and if I am ever doing something wrong I know she will tell me.
