We had the good fortune of connecting with Katiana Serrano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katiana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is a part of life. If we don’t take risks we won’t ever grow or learn. I changed the word risk to investment. The word risk feels scary and dreadful. The word investment is empowering. What is most important to understand is that failure is a part of winning. In order to become successful, we must take a chance on ourselves. I’ve invested years into my mindset, my business, and myself.

Learning, failing, winning, and taking risks all the time. I rather take all the “risks” and slowly move forward than stay in the same place.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
KES Kreations is an event decor company. We specialize in creating custom, one-of-a-kind event decor for any occasion. Our mission is to make your events as special and unique as you are. We love bringing our client’s visions to life and helping them create memories that will last a lifetime.

I am proud of my consistency and growth. I have come so far but I have so much more to accomplish. I know it will all come in due time. It was not easy at all! I had to do a lot of healing in order to get where I am today. Changing my mindset was not easy and definitely wasn’t overnight but it’s most definitely what changed the game for me. I had to fight really hard to change my mindset from negative to positive.

I want the world to know that KES Kreations was built on a lot of love and we represent love! I have put so much love into this business and into myself in order to become successful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have a group of friends who are entrepreneurs and we enjoy eating at Edith’s Bistro. I mean Ediths is so beautiful and the prices are amazing. We come here often to brainstorm, and host events for our boss babes.

Fortunata Winery in Aubrey, Texas is such a beautiful place to visit. It’s cozy and romantic. They have amazing wine of course and the atmosphere is great.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to Whitney Kay who has been teaching me and Coaching me on my journey. She has been the only mentor to really break through and make me fall in love with the process. I love crafting and creating and I’ve always dreaded the behind-the-scenes in running my business. I always heard “you have to fall in love with the process” I hated that so much. It took me about 3 years to finally say I LOVE IT ALL!!!! I have grown so much and she is one of my favorite mentors.
