We had the good fortune of connecting with Katia Almayeva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
First and foremost, my journey in ballet has been a deeply personal one. I have dedicated countless hours to honing my skills as a dancer and have been fortunate to train under some of the most renowned ballet instructors in the world. I started Premier Ballet Coaching because I want to dedicate my time and knowledge exclusively to talented and serious students who want to pursue a successful career in dance.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Through my experiences, I’ve come to understand the transformative power of ballet, not only as an art form but also as a means of self-expression, discipline, and personal growth. It is this profound understanding and appreciation for ballet that drives me to share my knowledge and expertise with the next generation of dancers. Growing up, my whole life revolved around ballet. My mother, who was also a professional dancer, trained me every day since the age of 6. I was fortunate enough to win some of the world’s most prestigious ballet competitions and to perform at famed theatres around the world. Sacrifice played a major role in my life. Injuries, countless hours of training with no days off and many pressures associated with the world of ballet to name a few. Quite literally blood, sweat and tears as any professional athlete would face.
This is why I am passionate about Premier Ballet Coaching. I want to combine world-class Russian ballet training with a modern and positive approach that empowers and nurtures the individual student. When it comes to the uniqueness of my program, I believe there are several key factors that set it apart. I place great emphasis on individualized attention and personalized coaching. Each student is unique, with their own strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. I take the time to understand their goals and tailor my coaching approach accordingly. By providing one-on-one guidance, I can identify areas of improvement specific to each student and help them progress at their own pace, ensuring optimal growth and development. Furthermore, I strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment within my program. Ballet can be physically demanding and mentally challenging, and I believe it is essential for students to feel encouraged, motivated, and safe to take risks.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Believe it or not, DFW has some of the best sushi. One of my all-time hidden gems is Hatsuyuki in Fort Worth. Unbelievable quality and authenticity in a lowkey atmosphere.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this to the strong women in my life. First, to my mother, mentor and lifelong coach Marina Almayeva. Without her extensive knowledge, work ethic and most importantly unwavering patience I would not be the woman and entrepreneur I am today. Lastly, to my grandmother who supported me throughout her lifetime and loved me unconditionally.
