Meet Kathryn Guevara | Body Piercer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathryn Guevara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathryn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Being in the body modification scene seems very awesome to me. I’m all into doing stuff to yourself to make you comfortable in your own body! I always loved how piercings looked, having my face pierced was addicting. I want to go deep into body mods and expand my business soon!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I got my certificate in bloodbourne pathogens, it really made me strive and invest in my business, I was really proud of myself and what I was doing. It was overall easy starting the business, only challenges I can say is you have to have money to own your business. The lessons I learned along the way was to honestly never give up. I know that sounds cheesy and you see everyone say it, but honestly coming from someone who suffers from suicidal tendencies, borderline pd, and major depression, I really pushed myself to not care about what some of my family thinks about me and my interests. I’ve been kicked out for it but I learned to not give up and to not CARE. I want the world to know about my brand and story is that keep striving and be active even if you don’t have as many people on your side, you will grow as long as you keep doing what you’re doing. Mental health is very hard but don’t put yourself down, instead, affirm good things to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot is lake Hubbard. I like to relax there and just hear the water flow. If me and my friend were at the lake, I’d want to meditate, explore nature, and just connect. Other places I’d like to check out would be downtown Dallas, simply because they have so much stuff to do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I honestly shout out @shawnohare and @lynnloheide. Shawn is my favorite when it comes to extreme body mods! He gives me ideas on what I want to do in the future. Lynn is my favorite when it comes to body piercers. She’s so inspiring and extremely knowledgeable on everything that has to do with piercings and your body.
