We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Fishel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Fauxcades is an event design, production and rental company located in Dallas, Texas. We focus on the design and experiential element of each event which is why our tagline is “Experience by Design”. Our massive warehouse and showroom has carpentry, paint, welding, sculpture, graphic design and sign shop studios all in house. Having the ability to control the creative and quality of each product sets us apart in the industry allowing us to deliver exceptional results to our valued clientele. In addition to our production studios we rent bars, lounge, entrances, backdrops, decor and almost any other main decorative item for events. Working with both corporate and social clients we can accommodate multi-day city wide events, high end social galas and everything in between. The Fauxcades team consists of incredibly talented, creative and hard working people. Collaborating together to take events from concept to creation, Fauxcades has grown substantially into the massive operation it is today. Grit and hard work have paved the road for success and overcoming the bumps along the way has only made us a stronger and more dynamic team. Simply knowing there is always a solution and having the confidence to know we will find it guides us through the many twists and turns the event industry throws our way. Fauxcades is constantly evolving and elevating and we take great pride in our resilience and accomplishments.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas is a wonderful blend of cozy southern charm and polished cosmopolitan chic. You can satisfy your inner foodie with a wide range of cuisine and there is always something fun going on in the city.
We would kick the weekend off with a great dinner, depending on what we are in the mood for I have a few favorites. For a classic atmosphere to catch up over a great steak and dirty martini I love Al Biernat’s. For a more traditional Mexican cuisine and great atmosphere I’m a big fan of The Mexican and their extensive margarita menu and delicious bites. For dining with a view and more of a scene, Monarch or Kessaku are still on heavy rotation.
Brunch the next morning at Sadelle’s in Highland Park Village followed by shopping. If it’s a Saturday night in Dallas there is inevitably some fabulous social event, so the afternoon would be hair and makeup getting ready for the evening event.
Sunday would be pool and spa time for some R&R. I love the transformative Calm, Balance & Delight Cranial Sacral CBD massage at The Ritz Carlton Spa or The Blissful Retreat treatment The Spa at the Joule offers.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family has always been incredibly supportive of anything I do. My parents taught my brothers and I the value of a strong work ethic and infused a fiercely competitive spirit in each of us. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders and always there to offer an internal network for brainstorming, advice and encouragement.
