Meet Karla Sandoval | Dallas Tx Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Karla Sandoval and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karla, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up, I’ve always been passionate about art, and my love for drawing eventually evolved into a fascination with photography. In middle school, I was thrilled to receive disposable cameras from my mom, capturing anything that caught my eye and eagerly awaiting the developed photos. As I progressed to high school, my interests expanded to home interior and fashion design, with aspirations to pursue a career in fashion design or architecture. While my path ultimately led me to photography, I’m heartened to see how my various interests intersect and complement one another.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Dallas’s photography scene is thriving, and I’m proud to be a part of it. What distinguishes me, though, is my distinctive style, creative vision, and personality. I’m excited to open my studio, where I can push the boundaries of my art and craft unique experiences for my clients. While I’ve made significant strides, I recognize that I still have a long way to go. The journey of building my business has been demanding, but it’s also been incredibly fulfilling. As a full-time mom, I’ve had to develop strategies for balancing my entrepreneurial pursuits with family life. There have been times when I’ve felt like giving up, but I’ve learned to draw on my inner reserves of resilience and determination. Born in Mexico, I’ve made Dallas my home for 24 years. My three children, Josiah, Mateo, and Melody, are my greatest source of motivation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My plan would involve visiting a local preserve for hiking activities, followed by a visit to Lalaland Cafe, my preferred coffee shop in Dallas, where she could try coffee or matcha. The itinerary could also include shopping at North Park Mall, a picnic at the Dallas Arboretum, and attending a Mavericks basketball game or a Texas Rangers game. A dinner outing to a reputable Mexican restaurant recognized for its atmospheric setting would be a suitable conclusion.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My firstborn son is the driving force behind my entrepreneurial journey. He inspired me to tap into my courage and motivation, rekindling my passion for photography. After taking a break from education to focus on motherhood, I rediscovered my love for photography while capturing precious moments with my son. This newfound passion evolved into a business, allowing me to share my gift with other mothers and families.
