Meet Kameilla Chambers | Dallas Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kameilla Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kameilla, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was to pursue my photography full-time. I was super nervous but God was leading me in a different direction and I couldn’t ignore it any longer. Never in a million years did I ever consider turning what was once a hobby and passion into a full-time paid profession. Putting my faith in God along with the love and support from friends and family forced me to go and make this leap out of my comfort zone making KW Photography a growing name in the DFW photography scene.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
With my photography, I work hard to create an exciting and memorable experience for my clients. A lot of my clients tell me that this is their first professional photoshoot or that they haven’t had a professional photoshoot in a long time. So customer/client experience is very important to me. There are many different emotions that come with having a professional photoshoot, including being nervous and anxious. I always make it a habit to create an atmosphere for clients that allows them to relax or to get a little more comfortable. Comfortability plays a major role in a successful shoot. One of the lessons that I’ve learned along the way is to be firm in my pricing. When I first started out, I would discount my prices due to the lack of confidence. I didn’t think that people would pay as much as I was wanting to charge. In gaining more experience and time with my craft I’ve learned that my prices are a lot more reasonable than what I was thinking. I want people to know that when booking with KW Photography they’re not just booking to get some pictures taken. They’re booking a one of a kind experience with a photographer who truly loves what she does and will stop at nothing to meet their expectations in capturing them exactly how they’re wanting to be captured. When booking with KW Photography clients are both capturing and creating memories simultaneously even within the shoot itself.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Klyde Warren Park to taste the different food trucks and we would definitely visit Deep Ellum to enjoy the nightlife.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and church family. They are literally my biggest supporters. It doesn’t matter what I need from them, They are there 110%. They are always tagging me or my photography page in posts on social media. Because of their shares on social media and investments into my brand, people in the DFW area are discovering KW Photography. My mentors… God has blessed me with several mentors to guide me throughout my life. Whether is spiritual, personal, or professional; each one of my mentors is amazing and I thank God for them. Finally, I can’t forget to thank the person that pushed me out of my comfort zone. Literally, whenever I doubted my work, he pushed me to keep going and is always willing to provide me with the support and encouragement I needed to continue to grow.
