We had the good fortune of connecting with Jyoti Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jyoti, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was born and brought up in India. I love cake baking since my childhood. But When I got married and I came to know that my husband is a cake lover then it was a plus point for me and I started baking cake for him. When we moved to USA then I started baking more often for our celebration like my son’s birthday, husband’s birthday and for our anniversary celebration. I am a self taught baker. Every time when I made cake, I learned something new. More I practiced more I learned. I can spend hours in decorating cake without getting bored. With each new cake I created, I improved and gained more confidence. Turning point came into my life when we were planning to celebrate my daughter’s first birthday in October 2018. I tried making my daughter’s first birthday cake. I decided to make 3tier Elena theme cake and I was exited how it turned out. Everything I made from scratch. It was challenging but I loved doing that. When our guests came to birthday party they were amazed seeing cake. No one was believing that I made that cake. Everyone gave compliment about the taste and look of cake. After that I decided to make my baking passion as a carrier and started my own home bakery with support of my husband and encouragement of my friends and family.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Cakes are my canvas and I love being part of other people’s celebration through my cake. It makes me excited when I get wonderful feedback from them. I do feel proud myself that I made someone celebration successful. It was challenging in the beginning to getting believe of customer. But I tried to be consistent in taste and quality of my cakes and very soon people started believing in me and giving me orders for cake. The lesson I learned that no matter what never give up to your dreams and passion. Be loyal to them who is believing in you. Never afraid to failure. Failure is the key of success. Practice and patience is the most important factor. I am specialized in custom cakes for any occasion. I do specialize in making Indian fusion cake (Rasmalai Cake and Gulab Jamun Cake) which is my most selling cake till date. I do make everything from scratch and most of my cakes are Eggless.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is so many places in Dallas where I want to visit with my friend like Arboretum, Dallas Zoo, Reunion tower and Margaret hunt bridge. I love to eat in Red Hot Chilli Pepper, India 101, Yellow chilli and Malgudi garden.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so thankful to my husband who supports me in each and every steps. He is a big critic for my cake. He looks each and every details and gave me suggestions as well. I am so thankful for my kids who give me time for my passion. I want to thanks my friends who gave me encouragement. Most importantly I want to say thanks to all my customer who believes in me and giving me opportunity to make cake for their celebration. Which pushes me to do better and harder work. I got award from Amazing cake ideas for one of my cake “World’s Super Seductive Cake Masterpiece “. It was not possible without support of my family, friends and customers.
