We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Pulley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, what do you attribute your success to?
Having a consistent support system! Without my loving friends, family and online buddies, I wouldn’t have made it this far with my art. The constant support, the kind words and even the exposure really makes what I do a lot more enjoyable.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m Justin “Duhmarr” Pulley — born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I am a non-binary (they/them) photographer and image creator based here in Dallas, TX. I can be described as a bubbly & very colorful person and it definitely shows in my work. I love really saturated colors, playful designs & exaggerated posing. I feel like i have an avant-garde approach to my art. I think the only real challenge i’ve encountered was finding my style. I think it’s pretty cool for people to see an image i captured and go “Yeah, I can tell Justin took this”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a big FOODIE!! We’ll definitely have to hit up Belse, it’s a vegan restaurant kinda in the center of downtown…really aesthetically pleasing and the food is immaculate! Then we can stroll around Klyde-Warren park and people watch. Good thing about Klyde-Warren park is that there’s a free museum right beside it, a gem might I say.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Whether you’re a close friend, relative, internet stranger or just ANYONE who’s ever supported my art in even the slightest way, thank you! Shoutout to y’all!
