Meet Justin Paden | Sports Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Paden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been around sports all my life whether it’s playing sports or watching sports on tv, I developed a passion for it. I started a sports channel on YouTube because I was influenced by other Sports YouTube channels that tells stories, giving analysis, or reacting to a sports moment/game. I love to debate or talk about sports to friends/family. It gave me an idea to make a YouTube channel and see where it goes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My content is focus on telling old school football and basketball stories with a JP twist.
I’m different from others because I add a different visual element in my stories to make it believable like when you watch cinema. I also love to highlight certain players that are underrated that no one talks about and get lost in the shuffle.
I’m proud of how far I came from trying to find my niche in sports content to being able to get compliments from a lot of people around the world even celebrities you grew up watching on my storytelling content. It’s a good feeling and I’m very thankful to my audience.
It wasn’t easy. It was 5 years of hard work and figuring out how to stand apart from other content creators. The support of my wife really helped me overcome challenges throughout my journey and my mindset of not giving up helped as well to get where I’m at today.
There were a lot of lessons I learned along the way but the most important lesson I learned is believe in myself and chase the dream. I felt that people were not really receptive of me being a content creator and wanted to show them and others that it can be done if you believe in yourself and put in the hard work necessary to find success.
I want the world to know that I’m a sports fan that loves to create stories and love to engage with people in terms of their memories of players, moments, or games. It brings a smile to my face and very thankful for them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to an outside sports restaurant like YeeHaw where they have a big tv screen to watch sports, you can also play games, loud music, and great food.
I also like to take them to a basketball court. I love to play basketball. It relieves stress and just being able to have fun on the court playing pickup games.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a couple of shoutouts. My first shoutout is to my mom. She taught me the value of hard work and dedication to whatever I wanted to do. My second shoutout is to my brother because he motivates me every day to keep going and always stay positive throughout the good and bad times. My third shoutout is to my lovely wife. She has been there for me through thick and thin. She was the one that believed in my content when no one believed that I can do this. She was the one who gave the idea to be a full time content creator and I would bounce ideas to get her opinion. Without them, there would be no ITZJUSTJP.
