Meet Juan

We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juan, why did you pursue a creative career?
I felt the urge to pursue one as I used to play instruments growing up, like the saxophone, guitar and drums. Unfortunately, sports took over my life and I ended up giving up music for sports. As I got older and moved from sports into my work career I found myself gravitating back to music through DJing

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been in sales related roles for over 10 years. Have had the opportunity to sell in New Jersey where I grew up for a couple years right out of college selling custom suits B2C. In 2015 I accepted a job in Phoenix, AZ with UPS and then was later promoted in 2018 to a role here in Dallas. After 7 years of many accomplishments & growth, I decided to change companies to a staffing company as a branch manager for their office in Fort Worth June 2024. I was brought in for one thing only and that’s sales. The branch was the worst branch in the company. Fast forward to today, we are one of the top 20 branches in the company, I so far have the biggest deal signed at the company this year, a $13 Million dollar deal. I also Currently rank as the top producer in the company with a little over $3 Million in personal sales revenue as of August.
I got to where I’m at today from really mastering two things: Patience & Persistence. Many times in my career I was told no or told I wasnt good enough and that still didn’t stop me from pushing forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to a couple outdoors places I like to go like White Rock Lake, the stockyards in Fort Worth, you can never go wrong with Texas bbq like Terry Blacks, Hard 8 or Billy bobs are ones I like. As for night time, Mikes Gemini is a great dive bar I love to go to and then some dancing at It’ll Do or Lady Love

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to highlight my parents for introducing me to all types of genres of music from Latin rock, to salsa, 80s music, disco. I also want to shoutout one of my best friends Rafi Saleh. He really brought me into the music scene here in Dallas & taught me the basics on DJing and even lent me his DJ controller to use for practice. There are also various local collectives here in Dallas that I want to shoutout as they constantly give me opportunities to play music; Technorotica, Audio Sound Club & Pineapple Beach House to name a few
