We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Lucero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from Desoto, Texas. I was raised in a Christian home and was always active and involved in our church. My parents always teach me to do what is right and I try my best to do that when I am with my friends. They also teach me to be respectful.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, mixing new flavors of juices is art to me. I love getting all of my ingredients together in my head then gathering them to create a flavor I would imagine would be very delicious. I am of central american descent and I love the fruit from that region. Most of my juices (not all) will have mango, guanabana, or graviola fruit in them. I get excited to find out what masterpiece I have created each time. What sets me apart from others is my passion for getting everyone healthy, at my age, not when we get old. It is not easy to try to sell “green” superfood drinks to my baseball team when they have the option of Gatorade or some other sugary beverage. I overcome this obstacle by talking to everyone about the health benefits of my juices and how it produces natural energy and helps them grow better and not have any health issues, at least not as many. I also give out small samples so when they taste it they want more. Then they have to purchase. I want the world to know that my juices are to help everyone at all ages stay healthy and to help people my age make better food choices. My mom lost her father (55) when she was 23 years old, I never got a chance to meet him. My mom lost her mom (65) when she was 27 years old. I never got a chance to meet her. She tells me awesome stories about my grandparents and I feel like I know them, but they both had health issues maybe they could have been prevented had they had immediate and affordable access to healthier options. I don’t know that, but it is always a thought in the back of my mind. I want Herb’n Swigg to be the affordable healthy option for all ages.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to The Main Event , to the Malls and then to eat at Olive Garden, Panera Bread or BJ’s Restaurant.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mom. She is always there to give me extra encouragement when I get discouraged. She stays up with me all night labeling bottles and singing along to my favorite music when I am working on my juices. I don’t think I would have had the courage to do anything without her. She is very strong.
