We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Ritchey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Just getting started…. Being ok that your first product will not be great but it will be a start. I have a decent tolerance for rejection and negative feedback knowing my product will get better

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lone Star Agventures originally started in Stephenville Texas in 2013. We have operated Lone Star Family Farm in stephenville for 10 years and decided to add Clearfork/Fort Worth this year. We love farming and having families see our farm and our products while having fun. We feel our background in farming and our ability to grow some of the products we sell and decorate with makes different from other fall attractions. In operation you will see lots of hay and cornstalks which we grow. We started with a usda Fsa beginning farmer loan to buy our farm in Stephenville. It has been very tough for business to get crowds to Stephenville and that’s part of the reason we opened our Fort Worth location. some of the lessons I have learned are to not focus on what you do not have in business but to utilize what you do have. That has been critical to getting established. I really would like everyone to know we care and genuinely want to bring farm themed experiences to the masses in a safe fun way

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would go to Sundance square and stay in a nice hotel. We would go to billy Bo’s and hear a great concert then get up and eat at the mexican restaurant by Joe t Garcia’s Then we would cruise around clearfork and shop and walk around the stockyards

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife. She has worked very hard to make our farm experience what it is. She has given up lots of time and energy to help me chase my dream
