Meet Josh Asenjo | Hair Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh Asenjo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josh, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks can be scary. However many times risks result in major successes. I have taken so many risks in my life that have gotten me to where I am today. It makes you step out of your comfort zone, it makes you grow and it shows you what you are truly capable of.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in the hair industry since 2009 and have never stopped evolving. I have faced many difficult life moments during my career, and hair has been the thing that has pulled me thru it. I am always pouring my creativity into everything I do and am always trying new things and going beyond the “norm” specializing in creative color, hair extensions and hair replacement gives me the ability to transform peoples lives in the most beautiful way. I started in this industry with a hunger to continue learning and pushing myself. With that I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world to showcase my skills, I have won multiple awards for my work and have had some of the most wonderful career advancement opportunities. But it certainly did not come easy. Hard work, consistency and dedication to my craft got me to where I am today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my friends and family visit, there are endless options in the DFW area when it comes to things to see and do. I am very much into arts so going to one of the many museums downtown is always a great option. Also planning a visit to Klyde Warren Park is always a must. It is such a vibrant park with great views of the city, and lots of options for food with the many food trucks around. Heading outside the city a bit for some adventure and nature I always love taking my friends to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve or Rockledge Park for some nature and a little break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people who have helped me in one way or another in getting to where I am today. Two of the biggest supporters for my growth over the recent years have been my incredible husband, and my team at DreamCatchers Extensions. My husband has unwavering support for me in my career and understands that sometimes risks and sacrifices need to be made to get to the next level. He always encourages me to push myself to be the best version of me. And my team at DreamCatchers Extensions has helped immensely in helping me take my knowledge in this industry to new heights. Being an educator for DreamCatchers has transformed my life both personally and professionally.
