We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Molina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Success involves taking risks – stepping out of your comfort zone and leaping into the unknown. Sometimes the risk may result in falling, but if you persevere and keep pushing, you will come out successful. If risk is not taken, rewards will not flourish. Opening a small business was a major risk in my life and career.

Would it be successful or would I have to move on? I persevered, kept leaping in faith and have watched my ideas come to fruition. One step at a time. Some times you have to take a step back just to take two steps forward. You will eventually get there.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Jordan E’s Popcorn & Candy Co. specializes in over 50 flavors of gourmet popcorn, nostalgic candy/sodas, and gift arrangements. We have a bright and cheery atmosphere that puts a smile on everyone’s face! My mom and I decided to open our own store front of some sort and thought of popcorn and gifts. We opened our doors in October 2019. Unbeknownst to us, the pandemic would hit about five months in to our journey. Nervousness set in, but we had to overcome it and keep trucking along, one day at a time.

We survived the pandemic and have been growing ever since!!

There have been challenges such as the pandemic, supply shortages, etc.;
however, we have always stayed positive and kept our faith.

We built our foundation on our faith in the Lord, and we truly believe we would not be where we are today without His guidance and wisdom.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
An ideal itinerary of a day spent in Waxahachie would absolutely be centered around the Historic Downtown area! We would start out with coffee/breakfast at Fresh Market Coffee, walk the Square and visit all of the different
boutiques/shops in town, with emphasis on The Blume Boutique and Dazzling Divas!

Lunch would be at The Dove’s Nest.

Then a tour of the Historic Ellis County Courthouse.

And an afternoon snack at Jordan E’s Popcorn & Candy Co.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would absolutely not be where I am today without my mother, Amber Hatley. Not only is she my mom – she is my co-owner and best friend. All through life she has pushed me to be better than I ever thought I could. She has always let me push forward in all that I do, but I know that if I fall, she is there to catch me 100% of the time.

If I were to write an autobiography, she would be in every chapter cheering me on.

Everyone needs an Amber in their life. I am lucky enough to be her daughter.
