We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Jeter & the Revelators and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan Jeter, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Perseverance. You have to have a strong drive to get anywhere in this world. We put a lot of time, thought, and money into this band because we believe in it. There is no real secret to quick success in our opinion. It’s just good old fashioned nose to the grindstone hard work that keeps the boat moving down the river. Also, treat people with kindness and appreciate the people that help you along the way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are a punk rock americana band that is based out of the DFW area. The band was formed by our singer/songwriter, Jonathan Jeter who is also the drummer for Reverend Horton Heat. Jonathan Jeter & the Revelators have toured/performed pretty extensively with the likes of Ray Wylie Hubbard, Chris Knight, Jack Ingram, American Aquarium, and Charlie Robison among others. It has not been an easy road. The band lineup has changed many times before finally settling into the current lineup of Jonathan Jeter (Vocals/Guitar/Songwriter), Brandon Callies (Bass/Vocals), Garrett Chapman (Guitar/Vocals), Sean Beiersdorfer (Drums), and Alx Martinez (Guitar). We are extremely excited to be working on new music, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Dubliner on Greenville Ave and Good Friends Beer Garden & Burger House would be on the list. A show at Three Links or Double Wide is never a bad idea. Adair’s has one of the best burgers in town, and you can typically see some awesome music there as well. There is a pretty thriving music scene in the DFW area, so it’s never a bad idea to just walk around the Deep Ellum area to see who’s playing and what’s happening. In Fort Worth, Magnolia Motor Lounge and Lola’s have great musicians on their stages.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Family, friends, and the Dallas music community as a whole. We’ve been lucky to work with and sync up with some great people/musicians in the area. A rising tide lifts all boats. We work a lot out of Braxton Henry’s studio (379 Productions), so many of the recordings that we have may not have made it off of the ground without that connection and access to that studio.
