We had the good fortune of connecting with John Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, what do you attribute your success to?
My thought process behind starting a business was to provide top notch service, rooted in Christian based principals. To create a culture and platform to make a positive difference in our communities, to provide our employees the opportunity to work hard and earn great pay, and to provide a culture with the flexibility that allows our employees to be present in their homes and families. By doing this, we have a team of happy people that value integrity, communication, and quality which reflects in the work performed each and every day. The people are the most important factor behind our success at LPS.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I make it a priority to invest in people, not bottom line profits. As a 20-year old general manger, I didn’t realize the opportunity I had to make a positive difference, and throughout my career, the challenge was to learn how to not be a leader that operated by fear, but rather, a leader that has firm principals and leads with understanding and compassion. Now, I always make it a priority to understand others’ perspective.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely visit Legacy West in Plano Texas. We would eat at Haywire and visit Legacy Hall for live music. The Perot museum and Dallas Aquarium are must see places, and playing golf at one of the premier golf courses in DFW.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife, Laura, is my rock, my motivation, and my closest advisor. Without her, none of this would have been possible.
