We had the good fortune of connecting with John Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi John, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel like if you are not welling to take the risk in business sometimes you never really know what you can accomplish. Taking risk in my career has given me the room to keep believing in myself and growing. Sometimes when you take the risk it makes you work harder to succeed and with so much passion and purpose .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Not only to me being a barber by trade, I have so much to offer. I feel like what set me apart from most barbers is my work ethic and how I treat people. I would have to say I’m most proud about the fact that I never let others views and opinions stop me from making the right moves for feature growths. The way I got to where I am professionally is the relationships I have had the opportunity to grow, build and also just having really good soft skills. To add to that is you also have to be willing to do the work or even more work that was originally asked, that shows the people that want to invest in you that you’re willing to put in more then asked at times. It wasn’t the easiest level to reach but long as you have it in your mind that you will get to whatever level you want to hit you will. You have to also understand on the road to success there are many lanes and road block but there is no shortcut, even when you turn out of traffic to take the back roads you still end up in the same traffic with the same cars around you. I have learned in the growth stage you have to trust the process and not panic if it’s not working in the moment, that could be the seed you laid and the fruit came later. As I think I would like people to understand I built this brand from the ground up and based it on creating a movement.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a best friend coming in town I would see would they like to eat for the time of their stay, I would offer them Town Hearth, Perry’s, and if they wanted some sushi I’m differently saying let’s go to Uchi. Now if they say they want some good Texas BBQ I have to make sure we get up early and head to Terry Blacks before they sell out but for a good soul food feel with a dope vibe True Kitchen and Cocktails. I think Deep Ellum is a cool, if you want live music food and some great people watching just hang there for a moment. You can also find a good time by Cowboys stadium at Texas Live, If you want to just explore Dallas has some great Museums and outside places to hangout and relax or shop.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to shot my family out also my extended Popular Nobody family.
