We had the good fortune of connecting with Johannes Luckemeier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johannes, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
First of all the longer I worked in different corporations I felt I wanted to start my own company.
The key moment was when I bought my first electric car and started building a device and software to
create custom engine sounds for that car. I quickly figured out as I was enjoying it that this is something other people
could enjoy too.
I did research on how to sell a product online and at the time Shopify was on the rise and had a lot of good content on YouTube.
That’s how the overall thought process started for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
While I was growing up I had the dreams of becoming a rock start (90’s) when the 2000’s rolled by and the music industry more or less collapsed it was obvious that that wont happen. I still pursued a degree in music but focused more on technology and combining music/sound with programming. Luckily when finished my education car manufacturers where just looking for people with the creative technology background in the sound field as the majority in the car industry were engineer with less creative backgrounds. The challenge when working in the car industry as a creative was to work/communicate/align with the engineers who speak a complete different language all based on numbers and measurements while my language was more adjective driven due to my educational background. The biggest lesson here is that assimilation and adaption are essential. I read acoustic engineering books to make sure I understand and speak the same language as my fellow colleagues when working for those car manufacturers. Today I can speak both languages, means I can communicate and understand the creative people but I can also communicate with the hardcore engineers this was an essential skill when I lead a program/team to introduce a new audio technology for a premium car maker.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would not stay in the city I mean one city. We be heading on a road trip to make the best of the time. We would head to Dallas downtown meet my good friend Brian Hart who just lunched his hemp beverage have a snack and from there hit the highway and head to New Orleans (8 hour drive). Plenty of restaurants and coffee places on the way to take small breaks. Arriving in New Orleans we would enjoy all the stuff going on in Bourbon street and the next day we hit the highway again and head to Houston. In Houston we would go to Kemah beach and chill at the boardwalk while having some superb sea food. Next day heading back to Dallas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well that is an easy one it all goes to my father. He helped me in the beginning when I started the company due to his entrepreneurial background and he also believed in the project from the start. I would definitely not been able to pull this off and got this far with the company and product without him.
