Hi Jimmy, what inspires you?
I am inspired by the journey of my parents, who immigrated from Vietnam to offer me a brighter future in America. Their sacrifices and hard work have instilled in me a deep appreciation for the opportunities available to me. Tragically, I lost both of my parents to cancer during my early 20’s, which served as a stark reminder of the fragility and preciousness of life. In the midst of grief, I found solace in my passion for videography, using it as a creative outlet and a way to preserve precious memories. As I honed my skills and witnessed the impact of my work, I realized that my passion project could become a fulfilling career. It is this journey, fueled by my parents’ legacy and my own determination, that inspires me to pursue my career as a freelance videographer.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a videographer, my storytelling ability and attention to detail are what I truly take pride in. I strive to create narratives that captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact. From collaborating with renowned companies like Nike to supporting local artists in Texas, my journey is a showcase to the diverse range of projects I have been fortunate to be a part of. It hasn’t been an easy path, as doubt can often emerge when you are least expecting it. However, one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned on my freelance journey is the importance of giving my all, always going the extra mile, and giving 110% in every project I am involved with. This mindset has not only helped me overcome challenges but has also allowed me to thrive. I firmly believe that when you give your all, the universe responds by reflecting that energy back to you, paving the way for even greater opportunities and achievements.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Dallas and Fort Worth are amazing cities that offer so many different experiences and flavors. If I had a friend visiting for the first time, I would make sure they visit Fortune House in Irving,Texas where they can savor the best soup dumplings I’ve ever had. For authentic and delicious pho, Pho Ba Le in Arlington is a must-visit. And to satisfy their taco cravings, Fuel City is an absolute gem, serving what I consider to be the best tacos in the entire DFW area. Dallas is home to a wide array of museums and shops that offer a diverse cultural experience. From the Dallas Museum of Art to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, there is something for everyone. Exploring the city’s diverse neighborhoods and browsing local boutiques would also defintely be on the itinerary. With so much to see, taste, and discover, a week wouldn’t be enough to fully grasp the city’s vibrant atmosphere and endless possibilities.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In my pursuit of an unconventional career, I have been incredibly fortunate to have the support of my close friends and loved ones. They have stood by me through every step of my journey, offering encouragement, understanding, and belief in my abilities. Their unwavering support has provided me with the confidence and motivation to continue pushing forward, even during moments of doubt. Additionally, I would like to express my gratitude to all the talented creatives I have had the privilege to work with and connect with along the way. Their passion, dedication, and unique perspectives have been a constant source of inspiration for me. From sharing valuable insights to collaborating on projects, these individuals have played a major role in keeping my creative fire burning. I am grateful for their influence and contribution to my growth as I strive to make my mark in the world of videography.
