We had the good fortune of connecting with Jewel C and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jewel, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
I believe I was born to be a creative. Everything about creativity draws me and makes me so overwhelmingly happy. I enjoy brining my vision to life. I enjoy creating concepts. I enjoy bring joy to others when they get to experience a creative concept or feel the production that I put on with the creative concept.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a creative, an empowerer, a health enthusiast, and a DJ. I started out doing health and wellness videos on YouTube in 2017. I found myself at rock bottom with my health and my life. I made the decision that enough was enough and I had to make a change. I was behind on my dreams and goals and 40 pounds over weight. I put all of my effort into becoming a better me. I encouraged others to take control of their health because controlling your health means controlling your life. I started walking in my purpose and pursuing my career as a DJ. I moved to Dallas in 2019 where I started tapping in to my creative side modeling and creating photoshoot concepts. My journey has not been easy and I have fallen off the wagon more times than one. However, I found that if one keeps going one never fails, so I work everyday to continue on my journey to become the woman I am destined to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had to choose some exciting places around DFW, my day would go like this: Morning Walk/Run around White Rock Lake
Protein smoothies at JuiceLand
Brunch at Smithy’s
A walk around Commerce, Elm, & Main street to see the art and action
Grab a quick snack from Tiki Loco, one of my favorite vegan restaurants
Prepare for dinner at Vidorra
End the night at Zatar Lebanese restaurant

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout Eric “ETTheHipHopPreacher” Thomas. Starting out my journey to “becoming” I would listen to his motivational messages every morning to get me out of bed, to encourage me when I felt I couldn’t continue, and a mentor when I felt alone. I truly am grateful for his empowerment.
