We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessika Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessika, what do you want your legacy to be?
The legacy I want to leave behind is that I kept God first in running my business. Also, creating events that creates awareness for other businesses and the community. Along with pouring the knowledge I’ve gain over the years at school, work, life, and running a business back into the community. I want to be able to teach the younger generation about Financial literacy, running a business, and stepping outside the box when pursuing your dreams and goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What keeps me busy is working my 9-5 and running my business Love Jones Creations. I moved here to Dallas around the time hurricane Harvey hit Houston shortly, after moving here I realize Dallas and Houston are in the same state but totally different cities to live in. Rebranding my business to fit Dallas envoirment has kept me busy and making visions I had years ago come true.  While working my 9-5 and expanding my business I was able to enhance my skills as an event coordinator by helping plan and execute family day, Valentine’s Day pop up shops, and other events within my 9-5, this help me create new ideas within my business. Soon after I realize I wanted to do more corporate and larger scale events instead of smaller ones. There were a lot things I learned working a corporate job that helped me become a corporate event planner. I would want the world to know you do not have to be the environment you grew in or was raised in you have a choice to elevate and become the best version of your self but you have to want it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh this is a hard one because I perfer to cook and spend quality time with friends and family but when they do come in town its usually some pop ups like Wonder Bar around or I take them downtown so we can explore the many diffenret food and fun places. Some other places I like to go is Grandscape in Frisco, the lakes around Dallas  or the water garden in Fort Worth because I love water.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My story has several people to shout out over my business lifetime but the two important ones would be Ro Simmons with Business Lounge Dallas and The fellas of Deception Honey whiskey (Carlos walker and Victor Franklin). When I first moved to Dallas I was rebranding my self and struggling with finding my Lane in Dallas like I had in Houston and Memphis. These individuals help me in finding my own lane.
