We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessie Gregory and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
There’s something about expressing yourself in what you like to do, that feels right. I love fashion, all aspects. I’m not a model, I don’t get on the runway, not my lane. But I love creating. Playing with effect on pictures, making videos and doing transitions are so cool. After adopting that aspect to weave into my fashion, it pushes my creative thinking as well in terms of what can I do next. It’s like a challenge for myself to never get comfortable.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I always like to try new things. From being creative and fashion, I’ve always been open and breaking different barriers. At the time, I’m not a full time creator. I work full time as a customer service manager and content creation is on the side. The biggest challenge is making time, the only way to overcome that is to make time. It’s easier said than done but there’s more than enough time in the day to get things done. You will make time for whatever you want to do as long as you want to do it. Procrastinating is a curse to say the least lol. What I want people to know about my story is to put your mind to whatever you want to do.
No matter how outlandish those aspirations may be. It’s better to try and fail then not even give it a shot and regret it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would give the answer of doing tourist things and going to museums but being honest, we are getting mimosa tipsy during the day. So usually that includes breakfast and then a bit of day drinking. Soon after, we’re going skydiving! What’s more exciting than that after drinking some mimosas? Just don’t throw up 💀 To cool off a bit, we would go to a video game bar toe do some VR stuff. Killing some zombies would be so much fun in VR then we would take it in for the night. Only to take a shower to go walking in deep ellum, and getting a alcoholic popsicle to end the night with a bang!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Actually, yeah. E.Parrish & Mr_demby two of my fellow content creators in Houston & Dallas. They have been pushing consistency on me. Indirectly and directly. Chopping it up from seeing their work from afar. Inspiration comes in many forms and those guys are keeping me on it.
