We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Rosales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe taking risk plays a big part in growing your business and growing as a person. One of the biggest risk I took in my business was starting. While I was in Esthetician school my goal was to open my own suite/salon, but I was waiting for the “perfect” time to do so. I would say “ I’ll start when I get a set clientele”, “I’ll start when I have more money saved up”, “I’ll start when I get more exposure” etc. After working at different lash studios, one day I decided I was going to take the risk to go on my own and start my own business, although I wasn’t 100% prepared. I found a salon I liked and they gave me one month until I had to move in. So I had to get all my supplies, equipment, website, decor for my suite and my clientele ready in just one month! I was scared because I was thinking of all the what ifs, like “what if I don’t get clients”, “ what if my business doesn’t succeed”. Now I am so grateful that I took that risk and just threw myself out there instead of waiting for the “perfect” time, because ever since the first day I started I have stayed booked, and my business is continuing to grow!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a licensed Esthetician, and the services I offer are lash extensions, lash lifts, brow lamination, body contouring and waxing. Growing up I always knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry, and I started my career right after high school. I started as a makeup artist , but when I was in esthetician school my interest shifted to facials. I graduated esthetician school right before COVID so once I was able to start working, unfortunately spas were closed because they weren’t essential, so it was hard to get a job. Once everything started to open back up I worked at a hair salon and at a spa. One day one of my classmates offered me a job at a lash studio and I said yes with no hesitation. Ever since I started doing lashes I haven’t stopped, I fell in love with it! Over time I learned how to perfect my craft and decided to start my own business. This process wasn’t easy because there is so much to it and when I decided to start I only had one month to get everything in check to start working, because the suite that I wanted they would only hold it for a month. I didn’t hesitate so I took the opportunity. I have learned so much being on my own, and the best part about it is that I get to make my own schedule! Overall, I am excited about continuing to grow my business and hopefully adding more services !

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them around the area like The Star in Frisco, especially if they are Dallas Cowboys fans. It’s a nice place to walk around, eat, and shop. My favorite place there is Mi Cocina, which Is a Tex-Mex restaurant and their drinks are 10/10 so I would take them there. I would also take them to go walk around and shop at Legacy West, The Shops at Legacy, and to the malls! Downtown Dallas is always fun for night life so I would take them there because there is so much to do. I would take them to Milk & Cream which is ice cream on a donut! Every time I go to Dallas I have to stop by there because it’s so good!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to my family and friends that have supported me along the way. Especially my parents for believing in me and for always pushing me to go for what I want. I dedicate this to my esthetician friends that were there from the start of my journey. We all had the same goal, which was to succeed in this industry, and we all helped each other get there. I also want to dedicate this shoutout to my clients, because without them my business wouldn’t be where it is today.
