We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Pree and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
If you would have asked me this question just 2 years ago I would have told you that i am not a risk taker and that i always play by the rules. Now, if there’s no risk involved, I probably will look the other way. Over these past few months i have seen many success come from taking risks and doing things unconventionally. I usually will tell myself “no risk, no reward”. I also believe that in order to succeed at something you have to fail in order to learn and grow. Failure is one of my best teachers because it allows to me learn better practices and to avoid those things that didn’t work. Taking risk is usually uncomfortable. I try to do at least 1 uncomfortable thing each day. When I am uncomfortable it is because I am trying something new or forcing myself to get over hurdles that make me uncomfortable. I believe that if it were not for me taking risk and putting myself in uncomfortable situations, i wouldn’t have been able to accomplish some of the goals that i have set for myself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Glo Juice Bar is a cold press juice company. We are black owned and founded by a woman herself. I am proud of the success we have had in such a short amount of time through the lives we have touched. I wanted to create something that not only helped me but also helped others who may have some similar struggles as i have. It has been such an honor and so much fun to create this business from the ground up and to grow this brand. Because of my passion God has blessed me by making this road smooth and exciting. It seems like all a breeze looking back on the traction and growth however, I have worked extremely hard for this business and the future success of this business. Along the way I have learned to always have fun, allow yourself to be uncomfortable, be proud of yourself, and tell people about who you are and what you are doing! Glo Juice Bar was founded from a place of love and healing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to check out some of the amazing food trucks at Klyde warren park. We would have nice dinners on the town at night. I would take them out to white rock lake to go running on the trail. We would hang out in uptown Dallas and also make a trip out to Legacy West shops in Frisco.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

My friends and family have truly been my support system and have motivated me from the start. There are many i could name however I would love to shoutout a few people who have truly been there for me and encourage me every single day and they know who they are! So shoutout to Chris, Felicia, Kourtnie, Braylon, Dez, Alexis, my mom, along with all my friends on IG and those who support Glo that I may not personally know! I’m so thankful for you all.
