We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Lozano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is by Georgia O’Keefe, “I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I’ve never let it stop me from doing a single thing that I wanted to do.” It has helped me with pushing past the anxiety that comes from putting myself out there and sharing my art with the world..

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It has been a long time coming. I am proud of the progress I’ve made with improving my skill set. There has definitely been a lot of trial and error as well as persistence. Although I’m still not where I want to be, I’ve learned that with patience and dedication, there’s nothing that I can’t do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were entertaining guests, I would take them out to the art park at Trinity Grove, FreePlay or Cidercade and maybe a local paint and sip. We love to get creative out here!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out my friends and family for being an amazing support system. Their encouragement and support has been a motivating factor in my life.
