We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Juniper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor for me as a brand, artist, and business owner is how I treat people- hands down. Treating people with kindness calls in more business, of course, but it also makes people comfortable around me and in front of my camera, which leads to genuine, emotive photographs. I’ve built my entire brand on this concept.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I know it’s trendy, but my photography is based on real emotion. Real joy, real connection, sometimes real sorrow. I thrive with clients who are unapologetically themselves, which is why it benefits me so much to treat people in a way that makes them comfortable around me. Everyone wins when my subject is being authentically themselves.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Artists don’t succeed in isolation. There have been so many people who have helped me along the way, but the most influential person is my best friend, Bree Cota (@breemariephotography). She shared all of her wisdom without gatekeeping when I was first starting out. I would not have succeeded without her.
