We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerrica Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerrica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was opportunity. Not only did I want to provide opportunity for myself but for others like me with similar mindsets and goals. I wanted to inspire other people alike to keep an open mind, seek mentorship from those who are where you aspire to be. And lastly, dont be afraid to take risks and seize opportunities that align with your goals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My purpose… 17 years ago I was diagnosed with type one diabetes. I knew then I wanted to be a nurse to care for people. As I transitioned from bedside nursing to aesthetic nursing I realized how my daily injections can be used as a skill to achieve beauty benefits in others. Aesthetic treatments are effective in treating one’s appearance, self confidence, and increased self esteem. I’m glad I found my purpose as a nurse injector whose goal is to help others and enhance the beauty in others one syringe at a time.

The most important factor behind my success is growth. I love learning.   Learning isn’t just about acquiring new info-it’s about GROWING and EXPANDING our minds and hearts. When I embarked on aesthetic nursing, I was ready for the challenge.  I value education so I invested in Neowell Aesthetics Program that provides support, training, and product access year-round to its members.  Aesthetic nursing is not just a skill but requires you to embrace the spirit of learning and keep seeking knowledge. Its about pushing ourselves to be a better version of ourselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sports. I like sports so we would see a basketball, football or baseball game.

I love food. I really like Mexican food.

Then we would grab some ice cream.

Call it a night by seeing a movie or visiting a local museum while drinking a glass of wine.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my mentors Sarah Gaines and  Dr. Kiiyonna Jones who changed my mindest and taught me how to invest in myself to reach my full potential. Special thanks to NeoWell, an aesthetics program who has supported me and other nurses on this journey by providing resources and training to help us succeed.

Special thanks to my younger sister, Jaliyah a licensed esthetician who is my “why”. Thank you for believing in me and trusting me. I’m blessed to have you on this journey.
