We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since I was little, I always wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Over the years, I’ve tried many different mediums of art. None of them stuck very long until I tried cookie decorating. I loved the process of designing a set to go perfectly with a party theme or to represent all the things a person loves most. When I presented these little edible works of art to clients, the joy they created was inspiring. Custom cookies are the perfect way to celebrate an occasion and I love how they have connected me to my community and my inner artist.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After years of practice and work, I believe what sets my cookies apart from others is my attention to detail. I attempt to make every line and dot perfect before I could ever let it leave my door. I have spent time in trial and error and in classes learning and developing new techniques to further stand out from the crowd. This work has definitely not been easy and has involved countless sleepless nights. Over time and especially since having my baby, I have learned how to balance cookies with life. I’ve learned much about communication along the way as well. I strive to be very personable and have loved getting to know my community. I enjoy sharing my passion with others and have started teaching cookie classes. Some of my most proud moments have been winning 2nd place at CookieCon and making cookies for the US House of Representatives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start in my town of Aubrey and check out the downtown area with little restaurants and shops. We would go to Aubrey CrossFit and take my
husband’s class. Then we might go to Pilot Point and browse the Tulip Farm.

Outside of Aubrey, I love to go to Frisco to eat and hang out. Legacy Hall and the Shops of Legacy is my favorite place to get a variety of food and then shop.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I could not have gotten where I am without the support of my husband Scott, and the rest of my family who have helped me complete orders, come to my events, and spread the word about my business. I also want to shoutout my cookie besties Monek’, Lydia, Megan, and Bethany, who are always my biggest fans and supporters.
