We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenee’ Molacek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenee’, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I kind of live my life with an outlaw way of thinking. I tend to do what I want when I want and ask for forgiveness rather than permission. I have always had a very different way of thinking than most people. I’m very open to possibilities. Things are never black and white with me. I think being a risk taker has shaped me into a very confident and carefree woman. I don’t need anyone’s approval or opinions to make a decision. That mindset definitely helps with being an entrepreneur. Being a business owner, is scary and exhilarating, both of which are the same emotions you feel when taking risk. I guess you could say I crave the roller coaster ride of not knowing what’s going to happen. But, what I do know, is that once my mind is made up, I am so determined and focused, it’s like tunnel vision. Being a risk taker has its perks. You develop a thick skin like no other. You win some. You loose some, but you learn to adapt and pick yourself up and keep moving forward. Risk takers are fearless. We are more scared not to try than try and fail.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being in the children’s entertainment industry is just fun. It’s exciting and no two days are ever the same. I love welcoming my guests in to play, making sure they are happy and enjoying themselves. It brings me such joy to make others happy. What sets me apart from other play places is my desire to really get to know my customers on a personal level. My customers know I care for them. I have created a really cool thing with The Nest, because it’s like a home away form home. I am most proud of the reputation I have earned from my customers and my community. I think when you are genuine and your intentions are true, it just shows. This is my second go with, The Nest. Last April, during the height of Covid, I was forced to close my doors because I wasn’t considered an essential business. I couldn’t financially recover and had to put my dream on hold once again. The Nest wasn’t operating for almost 8 months. But, I’m back and I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity. And so are all my Nest fans:) I would like the world to know that The Nest, isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s a way of life. I give my all and work very hard to provide a unique place for adults and kiddos to play and party.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I stay in my bubble, but a few of my favorite spots are right here in 76262 and surrounding cities. Anamia’s in Trophy Club, has the best homemade Chicken & veggie soup and their skinny Jalapeño Margarita is the bomb. I crave it. Inzo’s, on Oak Street has the best happy hour in 76262. Plus, I love love love Oak Street in Roanoke (The Nest is also on Oak Street), because you can people watch and enjoy any genre of food you want. Seriously, so many options! Craft & Vine for cocktails. It feels fancy and the atmosphere is so chic. Plus, the food is amazing. Antone’s African Cuisine has unique options and their stuffed breakfast pastries are so delicious. Italian Bistro & Vinny’s for homemade Italian. If I wanted to stay out past my bedtime, I would visit Chop Shop on Oak Street for live music or La Scalia after hours. They have a DJ and the vibe is always fun. In neighboring Southlake, we would go shopping at Southlake Town Square and eat at Tru Fire. In Grapevine, we would walk Main Street and visit all the wineries. We would eat at Mac’s on Main or Dino’s Steak House. And then maybe take a train ride from the Grapevine Train Depot to Fort Worth.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family & friends are my joy & my motivation. My parents, my twin sister and all of my family back home in Monroe are my biggest cheerleaders. My sissy especially. She says the nicest things to me. She builds me up, until I just feel invincible. I love that we love each other so much. My best friend in San Antonio, is my confidant and my voice of reason. She is always there to listen and shoot me straight. I have made friends far and wide throughout my life and they each play a part in the person I have become. My girls, who I get to do life with in 76262 are my sunshine. They build me up, cheer me on & create a safe space for me to be myself. My husband and my two babies, are my world. They mean everything to me and are the reason, I keep fighting for my dreams. I wake up every morning ready to tackle whatever challenge comes my way. I love that my kids see mama, persevering. I think that’s important.
