Meet Jen Weaver | Ministry Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jen Weaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I found a need I’m passionate about and uniquely suited to meet. Everyone brings a unique combination of experiences, passions, and skills to the table. I get to bring a combined background in small business, executive leadership, and vocational ministry to help leaders reach the communities they serve. That was my thought process: what if I could fuel organizations to maximize their impact by bringing business and communications strategy into ministry spaces? It seemed like this huge obstacle I could help leaders overcome by helping in aspects like building cohesive messaging, brand clarity, healthy culture, and thriving teams. And the business began.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I know that ministry and leadership are tremendous investments, with personal costs that often go unnoticed. I’m here to pour back into leaders who spend themselves so freely for the mission and cause on their hearts.
The journey to where I am today is far from a straight line, but I can see how every step and season served a purpose. From early years in past co-ownership, to my corporate experience, and working as a women’s and groups pastor at a megachurch. I’m a frequent Bible teacher, I spent some years co-hosting conferences with leaders who became (and remain) some of my dearest friends (shout out to the Declare Community), and published my first book “A Wife’s Secret to Happiness” to encourage women in their marriages. Some aspects of leadership experience were only for a season, others are still part of what I do today. All brought value, whether in success or in lessons learned.
I have a huge passion to help the leader who feels like the underdog. Maybe it’s hard to find leadership resources or opportunities because you’re on a support team, not the senior leader. I’m cheering on the organization that senses it is time to scale (or get more streamlined) and they’re not sure how to get where they need to go. And I’m here for the leader who is just starting out and wants to start well, but feels stuck taking those first steps. Don’t disqualify yourselves from your dreams. Do something about them!
I’m paraphrasing a John Maxwell quote here when I say that one of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned as a leader is to not go alone. I’m grateful to join and build teams in so many spaces. Community makes things FUN and has been a huge difference maker for me. Whether joining the John Maxwell Team as a certified speaker, trainer, coach, being an affiliate member of Consumed Coaching here in DFW, partnering with other incredible coaches like business coach Anne Watson to meet the needs of our clients, or the work I do with my own coach—building community with other leaders is a game changer. If you’re a ministry leader who feels like you’re trying to figure everything out on your own, reach out. You don’t need to go it alone and I’m here to help.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a mom with two little kids, so I could give you a tour of my favorite coffee shops all throughout DFW. In a pinch, we’d hit up the drive through at 151 Coffee, or with a bit more time we’d visit George’s in Coppell or La La Land Kind Cafe in Dallas. We’d then visit The Sound in Coppell for lunch and outdoor family activities, or Dallas Farmers Market for light shopping and delicious snacks, grab a pedicure, and a have a chill chic dinner out at RH Rooftop Restaurant.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to tons of people! I love this question, because I wouldn’t be here today without the love, mentorship, and support of so many. If I pick just one, it’s hands down my husband. Jared is my biggest supporter and advocate, and the way he dreams with me always inspires me to dream bigger.
