We had the good fortune of connecting with Jelisha Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jelisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I created Fix Your Crown Sis as a way for women to be able to be reminded who they are. That we are Queens. We are Goddesses. That when we show up for ourselves, magical things happen. I truly wanted my business to reflect women empowering women.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I am most proud of is being able to help other women recognize how amazing they are. Sometimes we just need someone who is an encourager and uplifter. Sign me up!

I’m learning that anything that doesn’t work for me or what we consider failures are not actually failures but blessings and much needed lessons. I’m grateful for the entire journey.

So if something falls flat, I know that I am being redirected to go within, and figure out what’s really meant for me. I trust that I’m always going to be able to succeed because my work comes from my heart space. It comes from God so things will always align the way it is meant to be.

I would like for my brand to touch women worldwide. I want little girls fixing their crowns and women adjusting their sister’s crowns. If we truly come together, we would be unstoppable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go a ladies date! That would include facials, nails done/feet done, we would go to a hip Vegan spot in Bishop Arts called The Vegan House and then go to a jazz or lounge spot to smoke hookah and listen to some amazing poetry!

I love being around anyone that’s different. They don’t fit the mold. They march to the beat of their own drum. I crave the eccentric style and normally, if you are different… you are the one creating the entertainment for everyone else to consume and enjoy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am amazed by all of the women being bosses and doing their thing!

I personally would like to dedicate my shout out to Skin by Star! She’s an amazing esthetician who truly cares about her customers and the quality of their skin!
