Meet Jeffrey Sajan | REALTOR®

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeffrey Sajan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeffrey, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I choose to pursue Real Estate full time as I wanted to retire my parents, provide for my son by creating generational wealth, and to use this field to spread the love of Christ to others. The American dream is something everyone pursues. For my parents, it was the same thing. At the age of 22, both of my parents left India to pursue this dream. My parents left India and went to Saudia Arabia for my mom to finish her nursing classes and it was tough. My mom’s father passed away while she was in Saudi and she could not even leave to see him in the states for his funeral. After 2-3 years they were finally given a visa to come to the states and the first stop my parents go-to is my grandfather’s grave site. These countless sacrifices my parents made for me and my family are things I will never forget. This is why I am giving it my all in Real Estate. I want to show my parents and family that all these sacrifices are not in vain. I also truly love working in the field of real estate as I see so many amazing homes and I truly get to see people’s dreams come true. The first transaction I had was with an Army Veteran and his family. They were first-time home buyers and they had been waiting to buy their first home. They told me about their experiences with other realtors and I assured them that I would be different. I like to treat my clients like family as I am in the business to build relationships, not transactions. I was able to get them the home of their dreams, find every possible incentive I could for the family, and we were able to close their new construction home in under a year. What hit me the most was the day of closing. To see this family’s joy and happiness changed my life and my perspective forever. I was in a position to show the love of Christ and make people’s dreams come true. For once in my life, I felt like I was actually in the right career. As I continue to grow in my career and pursue this dream I ask God to keep me humble as always and to never forget where I came from. Jeremiah 29:11 says “I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” I read this verse every day and go and fulfill the promise Christ made me. If you are reading this article and you are scared to take the next step I say PLEASE DO IT. Hoping never got us anywhere. It is taking that leap of faith, risking it all, and grinding it out, that produces results. Pursue your dream with 100% and watch your life change forever.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a Realtor is not an easy job. I truly overestimated how hard of a profession it is. The first 3-6 months is where 70% of realtors fail as they give up or do not have the drive to push forward. What you put into your business is what you get. You have to hustle constantly, come the to realzation that not everyone will want you to be their realtor including close friends and family. This is all part of the game. You will be rejected many times, deal with difficult clients, and sometimes fall down. The way to win is to never give up. You need to push yourself always, outwork others and always hustle. I realized that real estate is the business about making relationships. If you can always push yourself and never give up then you will win in this field. My biggest struggle was jumping into this job full-time. I have a degree in computer engineering and to have a stable income and job security is a great feeling but, it will never push me to my goals or help me achieve my dreams. Leaving my secure job was the biggest hurdle for me but, I took a leap of faith and I will make this dream come true. “Never half-ass two things. Whole ass one” – Ron Swanson.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas is an amazing city with so many things to do. The first thing I do is bring my friends to amazing BBq places. My go-to BBQ places are Hutchins BBQ, Terry Black’s Barbecue, Pecan Lodge, and Cattleack Barbeque. These places are very great for their brisket and variety of bbq meats. After we eat we usually get our drink on and I start my friends in Bishop arts. The Wild Detectives is a very chill bar where I usually like to start if I want to have a chill night, If my friends want to go clubbing and party a little harder Café Salsera is a great place that plays a variety of music and it’s always packed! If we want to change up the vibe then Bottled Blonde is our go-to! If my friends are feeling more outdoors we also have some great trails to hike like The Cedar Ridge Preserve. This place is very great with a variety of different hikes. It is always packed with people and you will have an amazing time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a lot of people who helped me in my journey and I owe it all to them. I first want to give a huge shout-out to my family and friends. Without them, I would not be the person I am today. They pushed me every step of the way and helped mold me into the man I am today. Terry, Bino, Jennifer, and my parents Sajan and Moni I love you guys so much. Next is my number one supporter, my best friend, my love Saba. She has always encouraged and reminded me that I have more to offer this world. She saw me when I was at my lowest and helped drive me towards my goals. I love you babe! To all the people who helped me in my real estate journey, I owe you guys so much. Thank you Rogers Healy, the JKG team, Jansen K, Alex A , Thomson W T, Mustafa AKA Moose, Blesson A, Brandon S, Dani, Harley L, Taj G, Sajil S, Josh D and Shawn B. Without you guys, I would not have been able to survive this tough profession. Thank you for guiding and mentoring me all this time when I needed help! My biggest inspiration and push of them all is my son Kona. Kona I love you so much son. It’s because of you that I work so hard and push myself. My son is my world and he is my biggest “why”. The last person/group I want to give a shoutout to is The Commission church and Jesus Christ. Without Christ I am nothing. He made everything possible for me and brought me this far in my life and career. Thank you Pastor Ashish Mathew and The Commission Church for always praying over me and helping me achieve my dreams. I owe all my success and accomplishments to these people right here.
