We had the good fortune of connecting with JeanNate Kilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JeanNate, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started Stepping Stones Online Education to be of service to homeschooling parents in my community who struggled in their homeschooling journey.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Stepping Stones Online Education GRP. is an online homeschooling group. We offer curriculum and subject assistance to homeschooling families. What sets us apart is our faith based approach to learning and serving our community. We also strive to place ourselves and the people we see everyday in our communities in our curriculum. We are proud of our STEAM and project based learning approach to our teaching styles. It has proven to have great results in our program. We have learned that constantly is key in education. Children need to have constant routines whether they are online or in person. I would like the World to know that homeschooling can be successful with the right support system and program.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love animals and I love to watch other people enjoy animals, so we would definitely visit the Ft. Worth Zoo. Then travel to Dallas to the Dallas World Aquarium. From there, the African American Museum at The Cotton Bowl. While we are there we might as well enjoy the Texas Fair and the Southern Classic.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely want to shout out to God who is the center of why I do what I do everyday. My husband, staff and parents who believe in the virtual homeschooling group that I have been blessed to create. I also would like to thank my partner who has brought STEAM learning to our program.
