We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaymie Tenpenny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaymie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had already been in the real estate industry for over 12 years and had been working towards the next steps in my career at that time. I thought I had a plan in place. My plan was to eventually get a brokers license and continue my real estate career and path. Plans changed along the way. After reevaluating my life, career and priorities, I decided to take a leap of faith. I did get my brokers license, but also started a brokerage from ground up by myself. And since, have not looked back. Now we have an office building in the heart of Keller and have added several agents and are still growing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Real estate is challenging every day. There is never two transactions that are the same. I feel that we have set ourselves apart in the industry by digging deep within our own communities. We not only host industry, networking gatherings every month, but we also love to give back to our community with events throughout the year, staying up-to-date with important information from our city, our local schools and chamber of commerce.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I love to take out-of-state, family and friends to experience the Texas scene at the Stockyards downtown Fort Worth.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shout out to Kymberly Sims. She has been a wonderful friend for years and now she works along side me. She is the one who pushed me to believe in myself to take that leap of faith and go out on my own. She was in the process of getting her real estate license and came to me for advice, I advised her to start with a big company. Her response changed my path. She said absolutely not, I’m working for you. It gave me the confidence to push forward with my plan. I appreciate her believing in me.
