We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaughn Meshack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaughn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always knew I wanted and was going to be part of something bigger than myself. After reaching out to so many outlets, getting dismissed, misunderstood, not taken seriously and overall not the results or opportunities I needed, I decided to make one for myself. You know the old saying “If you want something done right, do it yourself”? I had the vision, plan, and schematics and presented it with an open hand, all I needed was the resources. It took me a little over a year to turn just a simple idea into a legitimate business. I realistically evaluated my interests, talents, and admirations, and eagerly searched for a way to thrive from them. Thus Elemental Rounds was birthed. Heavily inspired by gaming, Elemental Rounds is all about the effects of actions. Mastering your powers and doing what you can for the betterment of yourself and the company around you. Now when people ask me what do I do for a living, I get to humbly say “I get paid to be myself.”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Idealistically, Just think about Newtons Third Law; “For every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.” So for every good you do, there’s goin to be someone who see’s that and want to go do good to you as well, or on to the next. But on the other hand for every good you do, theres always goin be that one hater acting like your good isn’t good enough, or that anybody could’ve done that and so on. We’re all about having a good time so expect events, shows, fundraisers, merchandise, audio and visual projects, open to all artists, designers, and creatives looking to put those positive elements out there in the world to make it a better place, despite what the nay-sayers think.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like to keep a good balance of going out and staying in. One night Stay at home get a couple drinks turn on the speaker and get on the dominoes or the game. Another night, call up the gang hit the studio and make the next hottest collaboration. Hit Deep Ellum or uptown to take a couple shots with strangers, play pool, watch a fight, bust out in a dougie, or act like I ran into a sign in the street. All depends, were very spur of the moment.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Literally all the Homies, all the Mutuals, everybody out there in their element & pursuing their interests. Everybody who’s hand I’ve ever shook, everybody who I have ever shared a drink or a laugh with, everybody thats ever been on my team, everybody trying to make something of themselves. Like there’s genuinely hundreds of people I have came across in this walk of life, and we may not talk or be around each other as much as we used to, but I would literally like nothing more than to see you winning. Everyone’s heard that famous quote “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”? Well I know a great number of dope, good, talented, people, and just them naturally being themselves and seeing them accomplish their goals always keeps me on my toes and makes me want to follow through with mine.
