We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Marancenbaum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, I believe the most important thing I’ve done is model resilience and accountability. Life throws challenges—whether it’s career setbacks, personal struggles, or big transitions—and I’ve always made it a priority to be transparent with my kids, show them how to face adversity with courage, and take ownership of both success and mistakes. I think that has taught them emotional maturity and self-reliance, which will impact them far beyond childhood. It’s also helped me grow as a leader, because those same traits are critical in the workplace.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is built on trust, hustle, and heart. I’m a real estate professional working in a highly competitive market, and what sets me apart is how personally I take every transaction. I’m not just selling houses—I’m helping families build their futures. That means being fully present, responsive, and fiercely committed to getting the best results for my clients.

I didn’t get here easily. I’m a single mother of four boys, and for a long time I was just trying to keep my head above water—financially, emotionally, and professionally. There were seasons when it felt like everything was stacked against me. But I showed up every single day, leaned into growth, and learned to own both my strengths and my struggles. That grit is the foundation of my business.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t come from having it all figured out—it comes from refusing to quit. I’ve had to learn how to manage big responsibilities, bounce back from setbacks, and lead with both confidence and humility. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve built a thriving business while raising strong, grounded kids. That’s my real legacy.

What I want the world to know is that I’m not just a real estate agent—I’m someone who deeply understands what home means, because I’ve had to fight for my own. My story is one of resilience, reinvention, and a relentless drive to create something better—not just for my clients, but for my family. That’s what fuels me every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d want to give them the perfect mix of local flavor, relaxation, and a few hidden gems. Here’s how I’d do it:

Day 1 – Welcome & Wind Down
We’d kick things off with dinner at Hudson House—can’t beat the oysters and mocktails. Afterward, we’d head to Hillcrest Village Green for a laid-back evening at the sports bar or just to catch up on the lawn with dessert from Cream & Sugar.

Day 2 – Boutique Shopping + Good Eats
We’d start the day shopping at some local shops Legacy West. Then lunch at Hillstone, followed by coffee at La La Land Kind Café. At night, we’d hit The Village for cocktails/mocktails at La Mina and maybe some late-night fun in Addison.

Day 3 – Outdoors & Relaxation
We’d walk the trails at White Rock Lake, pack a picnic, or just sit by the water. Later, a little pampering—maybe facials or massages at Hiatus Spa. Dinner would be at José on Lovers Lane—best margaritas and beautiful atmosphere.

Day 4 – Day Trip to Cedar Creek Lake
This is a must. We’d head out early and spend the day boating, floating, and grilling by the water. A full day of lake life, sunshine, and music. It’s the ultimate Texas unwind.

Day 5 – Culture & Cocktails
We’d visit the Dallas Museum of Art, maybe stroll through Klyde Warren Park, then hit Sixty Vines in Uptown for a wine-forward dinner. If energy’s high, we’d wrap up at The Thompson Hotel rooftop bar for skyline views.

Day 6 – Brunch & Chill
Brunch at Yolk, followed by a slow day hanging out at Shacks Austin Ranch (even if you don’t have a pup, it’s such a fun, friendly vibe). That night: a home-cooked dinner, good company, and catching up in PJs.

Day 7 – Family Day
We’d wrap the trip with a big, casual family dinner—my kids love Mi Cocina, so we’d go there and enjoy some Tex-Mex and Mambo Taxis, surrounded by good people and great energy. It’s always the perfect send-off.”

Dallas has this amazing way of feeling both big and cozy. There’s luxury, culture, grit, and charm—all in one place. And I think the best part is how warm and welcoming the people are. That’s what I’d want my best friend to experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. I’d first shout out my parents. They worked incredibly hard and made a lot of sacrifices to give us opportunities they didn’t have. Watching them show up every day, no matter how tired or stretched thin, taught me the value of grit, work ethic, and putting family first. That shaped who I am as a mother and as a professional. I also want to give credit to my kids—they’ve taught me patience, perspective, and what really matters in life. And finally, I’ve had a few mentors in real estate who saw potential in me, challenged me, and helped me grow into the career I have today. I’m deeply grateful for the people who poured into me along the way.
