We had the good fortune of connecting with James Fisher Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
“The Hard Thing About Hard Things,” by Ben Horowitz
“Embrace your weirdness, your background, your instinct. If the keys are not there, they do not exist.”
The one thing that I have learned from this book was is that “there is no formula for dealing with them”.. and its absolutely right. While many business books tend to prescribe solutions to challenges that aren’t really challenges at all, few, if any, tell it like it really is, which is that there is no one-size solution.
How does your business help the community or world?
Mission Fit Fitness gives people a chance to learn how to stay healthy and fit while on the job or at their own home via telehealth communication by educating them on Nutrition, Fitness and even physical therapy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
While working as a personal trainer at a local gym in Dallas. I realized that the number one reason for people not being able to workout is time. By providing them with a way to access fitness, nutrition and wellness education via at their place of employment or even home with a tailored and personally customized plans provided by their health insurance through employers. I’m most proud of how quickly we have grown as a company just starting out with less then on thousand dollars in the bank for the start up to securing two investment deals earlier this year for expansion. It was not easy in anything of course there is challenges and competition and this industry is no different there is always someone with more education, finances, and resources but one thing you can control is how hard you through yourself into your business. Many early failures taught me there is really no loss as long as you learn from it and build. One lesson I learned is that people who have never achieved what you are trying to achieve are never the best to confine in. Always seek the company and advice of people who are successful in any field. You may also have to work a normal job until everything takes off and that is totally fine never let anyone tell you otherwise. What I want the world to know about my story and brand is that if you can find a solution to a problem and harvest it with passion the sky is the limit.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to Charles Smith “King Charles” who over the years has supported me and mentored me on my physical, mental and business journey with non-stop encouragement and education to push me to not only where I thought I could be but bigger then I ever thought I could have gone.
